New MIL-COTS DCMs and Input Filters Meet Advanced SWaP-C Requirements

MIL-COTS DCM in VIA PackagingToday we announced two new MIL-COTS (M-Grade) DC-DC Converter Modules (DCMs) in VIA packaging, with 270V (160 – 420V) input voltage range and nominal output voltages of 24V and 28V with up to 500 Watts of output power.

These new DCMs are flexible, ruggedized DC-DC converters that are housed in Vicor’s thermally adept, low profile (9.3 mm) VIA package.  DCMs are isolated, regulated converters that operate with high efficiency.

We also announced new MFM 270V filter module (MFM filter) to complement the MIL-COTS DCMs.   The filter provides front-end transient protection and EMI filtering in a compact, low profile package, and are designed for use with any Vicor M-Grade 270V DCM 3714 VIA module. The MFM 270V filter module is housed in a 1714 VIA package (44.6 mm x 35.5 mm x 9.3 mm), accepts an input voltage of 160 – 420 VDC and delivers up to 640 Watts of power.

MIL-COTS MFM FilterBy combining the MIL-COTS DCMs and MFM Filter, power engineers can quickly meet the conducted emissions and conducted susceptibility requirements of MIL-STD-461E/F and input transient requirements of MIL-STD-704F.

In addition to these new products, we also described our roadmap for additional MIL-COTS DCMs. This includes plans for DCMs with range of output voltages from 5V to 48V; 48V and 28V input DCMs and an MFM Filter designed for the DCMs with lower input voltages.
