electronics-magazineElectronics magazine has just published an article by Robert Gendron (turn to page 12), VP marketing and business development, that asks why anyone would need intermediate busses in computing applications. In the article, Robert describes how Vicor’s power components can be used to achieve high step-down ratios without losing performance, enabling high-efficiency 48 V direct-to-processor power systems to be developed.

Many power engineers are focussing their attention on reducing the energy used in applications such as data centres, both to reduce environmental impact and to decrease operating costs. Read Intermediate Power Busses: Who Needs Them? (page 12) to learn how power components are helping power designers achieve their goals.
