Vicor Wins ACE Award 2015The Bus Converter Module (BCM®) family in the ChiP package has been named the winner in the Ultimate Products ‘Power’ category of the EE Times and EDN 2015 UBM Canon ACE Awards. This prestigious award isn’t the first: the BCM in the ChiP package has already won a 2014-2015 China IDC Best Product & Solution Award and was named Power System product of the Year at the Elektra Awards in December.

The ACE (Annual Creativity in Electronics) Awards were announced at an awards ceremony on July 21 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley. The ACE awards acknowledge innovation and leadership in the electronics industry and are now in their 11th year.

Presented by EE Times and EDN, the award winners are selected by a judging panel that includes editors from the two publications, as well as independent judges with backgrounds in industry, academia and venture capital. This year’s judging panel included Gordon Bell, senior researcher, Microsoft Research; Gene Frantz, professor, Rice University; and William Tai, general partner, Charles River Ventures.

At Vicor, we’d delighted to receive this honor from UBM Canon, which is a testament to the innovation of our product development teams. The ChiP BCM is a great example of the benefits of the Power Component Design Methodology, providing engineers with the power components that enable them to build efficient, flexible power chains from the power source to point of load.
