China Information World Awards Vicor Green Data Center Solution 2015

The Eighth China Data Center Conference, sponsored by China Information World, was recently held at Hotel Nikko New Century Beijing. With a theme of “Business Drives Innovation, Intelligence Wins Cloud Applications” the event attracted more than 1,000 participants from data center vendors and customers across China.

China Information World AwardVicor’s high-efficiency modular High Voltage DC server power solution, a VR12.5-compliant system that uses a PRM and Cool-Power Buck Converter, won the Green Data Center Solution Award of 2015, which was selected by China Information World’s experts.

This award follows the awarding of the IDG 2014-2015 Outstanding Data Center Product/Solution Award to Vicor, providing further evidence of our leadership in the data center power solution.

Vicor combines innovative topologies, packaging and manufacturing capabilities to deliver power solutions that won unanimous praise from the expert panel. Green power-efficient systems are an important objective for the data center industry. By converting 48 V DC directly to the low voltages required by modern processors, without the need for a 12 V intermediate bus, as well as providing solutions to convert the 380 V high voltage DC used to distribute power in modern data centers into 48 V or 12 V bus voltages, Vicor achieves high power density, low energy consumption, saves precious space and lowers operating cost. Furthermore, Vicor’s modular design philosophy greatly simplifies system power design and cuts users’ time to market.

Cloud computing and Big Data are driving the construction of more data centers. By cutting energy consumption and reducing emissions, Vicor’s power components are ensuring that the environmental footprint of these facilities are minimized, a contribution that is recognized by the award.
