INTELEC 2014 LogoHigh Voltage DC (HVDC) power distribution offers huge potential savings in the data center. However if all the potential benefits are to be realized, equipment from a large number of manufacturers must interoperate efficiently.

At INTELEC (International Telecommunications Energy Conference) 2014, which will be held in Vancouver, Canada from September 28 to October 2, Vicor will join with other industry leaders to showcase a complete 400 VDC ecosystem in booth #201. The demonstration will include data center and telecom leaders such as Anderson Power Products (APP), Emerson Network Power, IBM and Universal Electric Corporation.

Visitors to INTELEC will be able to see a fully-functioning deployment that includes power supplies and conversion systems, busway, PDUs, servers, network switches, connectors and breakers. The demonstration aims to highlight the increasing availability of products and the viability of 400V DC for telecom and data center applications.

Vicor has pioneered the development of power components for HVDC systems, and this showcase follows on from the demonstration of 400 VDC technology at INTELEC 2012, which was hosted by Emerson Network Power and Vicor.

The Vicor website hosts a range of useful HVDC content, including:
