Elektra Awards LogoWe are delighted that the High Voltage Bus Converter Module (BCM) and PowerBench Whiteboard design tool have both been shortlisted for the 2014 Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards. The BCM in the ChiP package is a finalist for the Power System Product of the Year; and our Whiteboard has been named in the Design Tools and Development Software category.

The Power System Product of the Year category recognizes power components that demonstrate how new materials, semiconductor technologies and packaging design have been applied for the development of efficient power systems. The BCM converter, which uses the revolutionary ChiP (Converter housed in Package) platform, is an innovative solution for a range of applications requiring high power density, high efficiency, and improved design flexibility.

Vicor’s online PowerBench Whiteboard design tool was named among finalists in the Design Tools and Development Software Award category because it demonstrates technical capabilities that are changing the way designers approach hardware projects. It is an online tool that enables users to architect end-to-end power chain block diagrams and dynamically analyze system attributes, including efficiency and power loss.

An independent panel of judges selected the outstanding entries in each category, with the winners announced at a gala dinner on November 26 in London, England.
