Three Vicor Presentations at PCIM Europe 2014

PCIM Europe 2014PCIM Europe 2014 opened today in Nuremberg, Germany. We will announce an important new product family at the show: the ChiP DCMs. Meet Vicor in Hall 9, Booth 549 (a stand we are sharing with our distribution partner Hy-Line) to learn more about these new products.  And find out how our complete range of power components are helping engineers develop more efficient, dense and rugged power systems.

At the event Vicor is participating in three Conference sessions.

On Wednesday, May 21, Maurizio Salato, ‎our Director of Power Systems Engineering, will present a poster entitled A Novel Approach to Industrial Rectifier Systems: Dense, Efficient and Modular Architecture Enabled by Fixed-Ratio Bus Converters, during the Power Quality poster session that starts at 3:30pm. He will describe a new AC-DC system architecture based on fixed ratio bus converters, comparing its performance and benefits against conventional designs.

David Bourner, one of our team of applications engineers, will present a paper entitled Leveraging Bus Converters in Regulated DC-DC Applications – Comparative Study of Yeaman Topology vs Factorized Power Architecture during the DC/DC Converters I Oral session, which starts at 10:00am on Thursday. His paper will compare these two ways of developing a power system, presenting test results obtained in a number of challenging applications.

Our third presentation is during the High Efficiency Converters II session, which starts at 2:30pm on Thursday. Harry Vig, the Vicor Application Engineer who wrote the popular series of blog posts that discussed Output Line Ripple on Power Factor Corrected AC-DC Power Supply Outputs, will expand on this topic with his paper PFC Single Conversion Line Ripple Cancellation Using the Yeaman Topology. He will be presenting during the High Efficiency Converters II session, which starts at 2pm.
