Seminars in Austria and Germany: New Technologies for Power Systems

October 29, 2013

In November Vicor will be holding technical seminars in Austria and Germany that will explain how to use new technologies to improve power system performance. These seminars will give participants an opportunity to have their power design problems solved by Vicor’s engineers.

Attendees will learn how individual converter stages can be optimised by using advanced power components and understand the benefits of different topologies such as zero voltage switching (ZVS) and Sine Amplitude Converters (SAC). The seminar will explain how these technologies can be implemented in both isolated and non-isolated modules.

A simple approach to designing complex power systems will be presented, and a real example of a complete power supply will be built and tested during the day.

Highlights of the seminars include:

  • Converter topologies with efficiencies up to 98%
  • Configuring a solution from AC to Point of Load
  • Filters, cooling and parallelling
