Embedded World Post Show Thoughts

Embedded World 2013I had a chance to visit the Embedded World show last week in Nuremberg, Germany. This has grown into a very impressive show just by the sheer size of the trade show floor and the number of manufacturers present. Being an embedded show, the technologies displayed covered a wide range from micros, power, A/Ds, D/As, sensors, to advanced enclosures.

Trends from the show? These were as numerous as the technologies being presented. I spent time with our partners, Future Electronics and Hy-Line, talking with their customers. We announced our new 12V optimized Cool-Power ZVS Buck Regulators which was of interest to many at the show. Engineers are keen on the Zero Voltage Switching Technology we use and appreciated the 12V optimized version for designs that they cannot take advantage of higher line conversion that the existing ZVS bucks feature.

Anyway, I would put the Embedded World show in my top ten for electronic shows to attend. Looking forward to APEC later this month and then back in Europe in May for PCIM.
